1. Go to: http://elibrary.mel.org/search

2. Click on “Mel Databases”

3. Scroll down to “General Reference Center Gold” and click on it.

4. Login using your Michigan driver’s license, State of Michigan ID or your local library card

In the yellow box:

5. Type your search term in the “Find” field

6. Type “Michigan History magazine” or "Michigan History for Kids magazine" in the “by Publication Title” field

7. Click the Search button

A list of matching articles will display. Many of them offer full-text versions (some pictures, mostly words) or PDF files (pictures and words as the article looks in the magazine).

Q: How far back can I search?
A: The database begins with the January 1998 issue of Michigan History magazine, and the Spring 2001 issue of Michigan History for Kids.

Q: Can I print the articles?
