| The National Ski Association is
organized in Ishpeming. |

Organized as the Ishpeming Ski Club, the
National Ski Association opened the U.S. National Ski Hall of Fame in
Ishpeming in 1953. The hall of fame moved to its present, much larger,
location in 1992.
