Michigan high-school basketball is televised.

Earvin "Magic" Johnson scored 27 points as Lansing Everett defeated Lansing Eastern in a district basketball game. The game was the first in Michigan High School Athletic Association history to be televised. Two years later, Johnson led Michigan State University to its first national championship.
