Al Green

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Michigan Connection 
Al Green was born in Forest City, Arkansas on April 13, 1946 and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Band
During the 1960s he was a member of the Creations and the Soul Mates.

Notable 
Green has sold more than twenty million records. Green has won nine Grammy awards between 1981 and 1994. During the years 1972 and 1973 he placed six consecutive singles in the top ten.

Big Hits 
In 1972 "Let's Stay Together" hit #1 on the charts. Green recorded a cover of "Put a Little Love in Your Hearts" with Annie Lennox for the Scrooged soundtrack.
