Bob Seger

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Michigan Connection
Bob Seger was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 6, 1945 and grew up in Detroit.

Band
At fifteen, Seger started a band called the Decibels and wrote his first song.
In 1974, he formed the Silver Bullet Band - guitarist Drew Abbott, hornman Alto Reed, bassist Chris Campbell, drummer Charlie Martin and keyboardist Robyn Robbins. (Organist Craig Frost and drummer Don Brewer, late of Grand Funk Railroad, would also have lengthy tenures in the Silver Bullet Band. So would drummer David Teegarden and backup singers Shaun Murphy and Laura Creamer.)

Notable
One of Seger's first singles titled, "Heavy Music” sold 60,000 copies and went to #1 in Detroit. Seger’s early singles, overlooked nearly everywhere but Detroit, remain among the most coveted collectibles of the Sixties.

Big Hits
Seger is one of the great rock and roll voices of the midwest
. "Old Time Rock and Roll" was used in Tom Cruise film "Risky Business," "Shakedown" appeared in the "Beverly Hills Cop II" soundtrack and "Like a Rock" is still used in Chevy truck commercials. He is also remembered for "Night Moves," "Rock and& Roll Never Forgets" and "Against the Wind."
